Union Volunteer Emergency Squad
The Village of Endicott is located in central upstate NY and is the birthplace of IBM Corporation and home to over 13,000 residents. The fire department is staffed with career firefighters responding to fire and EMS incidents within the 3.2 square mile protection district.

2% Property Tax Cap Enacted in New York State
The Endicott Fire Department responded to 2,485 fire and EMS incidents during the 2010 calendar year. 72% of incidents were for medical assistance and the remaining 28% are broken down into responses to fire, hazardous situations, false alarms and service requests. The Endicott Fire Department has recently completed a Smoke Alarm Installation and Education program for our Village residents. Firefighters installed over 2000 Kidde Ten Year Lithium Battery Smoke Alarms in residents homes and apartments. Designed to provide early warning to escape the deadly effects of resdential fires the program was made possible through a $28,000 grant from FEMA.
